How screen printing on fabric works

Screen printing on fabric is a process consisting of a number of very specific steps.

  1. The first step is to break down the design into the colours required to achieve the final result: preparing the design in digital format, separating each individual colour to be used and then transferring them onto the squares to be printed by photogravure.
  2. After the printing squares have been made, they are printed onto fabric: the colour is transferred by passing through the holes on each printing square.
  3. Finally, the fabric must be treated so that the ink is fixed. This process changes depending on the type of ink used in the process.
